Performance Model

To effectively address human performance opportunities and issues we use the Performance Model shown below. By Performance we mean the accomplishment of key goals or objectives competently, completely and with precision. Three key performance drivers -- ability, context and motivation influence performance at the individual, team and organizational levels.

Performance Model

  • Ability
The knowledge, skills, aptitudes and related factors required to perform effectively.

  • Context
The people, process, technology and related factors that influence performance.

  • Motivation
The needs, values, attitudes and related factors that influence performance reward and incentive systems.
We believe all three performance drivers must be carefully examined and addressed to help individuals, teams and organizations achieve optimum performance.

Note: The Performance Model is adapted from the book "Future Work - Putting Knowledge to Work in the Knowledge Economy" Winslow, Charles D. and Bramer L. William ©1994.
